DESCRIPTION:CLASS DESCRIPTIONIn this introductory garment sewing class\, students will embark on a creative journey to craft their very own pair of lounge/pajama pants with pockets and either elastic or drawstring waist\, (or both!). Whether you’re a novice to sewing clothing or want to brush up on the basics of working with patterns\, this class will equip you with the skills and confidence to tackle this versatile wardrobe staple. \nThroughout the course\, students will learn fundamental sewing techniques\, including how to select needles and thread for different fabric types\, take basic body measurements and analyze garment ease\, read and interpret sewing patterns\, cut fabric pieces accurately with regards to fabric grain\, pin and sew basic and contoured seams with designated seam allowances\, and finish raw seam edges. We’ll also cover essential garment construction methods such as pockets\, pants hemming\, and creating waistband casings (with buttonholes)! \nBy the end of the class\, students will leave with a completed pair of lounge pants tailored to their unique measurements and style preferences.
