ELAINE’S BIO
I grew up in the Seattle area and graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Art Education. I started sewing when I was about 12 years old. My mother taught me how to run her vintage Singer, as well as how to knit and crochet.

I have stitched everything from cloth dolls (think Cabbage Patch when they were all the rage) and stuffies to clothing to home dec and quilts (currently my preferred form of self-expression). I’ve been teaching sewing and quilting classes at Meissner’s since 2014. I love teaching the creative classes and watching students’eyes light up when they discover a new trick or technique. I hope that you’ll be able to join me for one or more of my classes…we always have a fun time!

I want to emphasize that, while I truly love the entire creative process of quilting, I am absolutely NOT the Quilt Police! Creating any work of art (and quilting IS art!) is a personal journey. I can help you on your quest for perfection, but ultimately I want you to enjoy your journey, not stress over it!
