Carrie Tondee
BERNINA and Machine Embroidery InstructorCarrie started her sewing adventure when she was a little girl. Her mother was a beautiful seamstress. She would stitch up beautiful dresses for her little girls. Carrie had two sisters and three brothers. Her mother had a Singer in a cabinet. The go control was a lever controlled by her knee. Her mother, Thelma, figured out the cams that allowed her machine to do beautiful decorative stitches with which she adorned her little girls’ dresses. So, from a very young age Carrie was influenced by her mothers’ enthusiasm and skill for sewing. At age 8, Carrie joined the 4H club in their area. That’s when she started making her own clothes on her mothers’ Singer. Carrie also took sewing in high school. So the foundation was poured!
Carrie has now been in the sewing and embroidery industry since 2008. Carrie’s niche is BERNINA Machines, however she has also used and taught Baby Lock, Brother and Janome machines. Carrie has worked as a Salesperson, Teacher, Administrative Assistant, Event Presenter and Machine Technician. Every part of this industry is Carrie’s favorite! Currently Carrie is working as an Independent Contractor doing BERNINA Sewing Machines Instruction, Embroidery Machine Instruction, BERNINA Digitizing Software and Projects classes. Carrie also does embroidery digitizing, mending, simple tailoring, special projects and private lessons. Currently her classes will be held at the Meissner Sewing and Vacuum stores in Roseville and Sacramento, and Folsom.
